Has anybody first hand knowledge about knee replacement surgery? - knee replacement advances
The old people have knee replacement surgery and, if so, are you satisfied, and then went through a long period recouperation. My husband is 80 and today was told he needs knee. Has anyone any suggestion that again after the surgery, if you do it in the same situation, etc. What are your experiences? Thank you in advance.

I have some friends who have had knee and overall results have been very good. One of my best friends are both knees at once, replacing the age of 68 years. He was back playing tennis for about 6 months later, and knees are fantastic for the last 5 years. No problem. They went the next day in a walker, and spent the regular visits to a rehabilitation center for 6 weeks or less, if I remember.
I met people who may have undergone 6 of this operation, and most have done so only for a friend 64th Apparently one of the sections was done right, first, and then separated. Were surgically corrected and is now fully operational. She recently won the championship golf course!
From the, what I have observed, most people of this miracle. Of course, a specialist, would of a successful knee surgeon with extensive experience. Go to the best I can. It is always good advice.
I also had the second and perhaps 3 comments. VerifyDensity of the bones of her husband and strength, etc., is sufficient to their weight on their knees again and support your bones and tissues with new knees, etc. and is healthy enough to handle the transaction. I assume that such considerations are an integral part of the evaluation.

There are about 2 years, my husband (in his 80s) had both knees replaced (both) and no more pain. The first 2 days after the surgery was very painful and rehabilitation took several months.
It is fortunate that he had made for both, because I did not go through a second time. He remained in the intensive care unit, a week later in a rehabilitation service to the hospital for a week. He donated his own blood before surgery, but has lost so much blood that had a small stroke during the operation. This was before the surgery, if not improve the oxygen in the blood and they have demonstrated a blood test.
I think they would have given more blood during surgery. Later he returned 3 more blood bags.
At home I have a double bed in the kitchen / dining room, so that he can with me during the day and loved it.
There was a kind of ongoing care and I'll bring him to make more progress and your knees more.
It is very important that you do exercise that you. But Hubhad a therapist, a knee bending too far in one session of rehabilitation and had a knee for weeks.
Another thing I remember was helping my husband (no one told us this). It was very painful to get into a standing position after at his bedside.
Finally he found when he bowed to us as far as possible, while the increase was easier and less painful.
Get safely at home for him, no carpet or anything that can be countered. Never thought, open wounds in the knees, is an infection of the great enemy.

I know of only one person had to do and he was 5 months. It is very painful and is still swollen and it causes problems. His recovery was complicated by obesity and diabetes, but what do you do the exercises and keep his knees bending.He says he will never be another event, but I think in another 6 months you will see much improvement of May and rethink the other knee. A good friend of mine had his right knee a few years. Strange - We talked about that today!
Now you need the following fact. The last one was 10 weeks before he could work again - but of course it is not relevant to you and your husband, he also said that is bearable after the first two days - the pain or discomfort, and would again do it. My wife had both knees replaced apart approximately 6 months. She thinks it's a blessing that this operation is for those who need them. He was 70 when, in operation, and was previously active again after a period of 6 weeks after recovery after each intervention. Turns the next 75 months and would kill for the delay. LOL
